The Best Pub In The World

The moment we arrived we knew we belonged. We sat on the driveway looking out over the fields towards the setting sun. A vow was made. If we didn't get this house, then our deposit would be spent on plane tickets to who knows where.

Our path to that driveway had taken us round the world, with countless house moves back in the uk, It had instantly felt like home. After nine months of searching we knew that nowhere was going to top the feeling we experienced as we arrived here on a hill that afternoon.

Later that evening instead of driving for hours back to Derbyshire we crossed our fingers, booked a B&B and did arguably the best thing to do in that situation... We went to the pub.

Since welcoming us on our first evening here in Wiltshire, twenty-three years ago; The Pear Tree pub has become a very special place for us. It has hosted so many delicious meals, comedy nights, long summer days, cosy winter fires, birthdays celebrations, New years cheers, gatherings with friends and family and even a family Christmas day lunch. We love our pub.

Last year the brilliant Whitley villagers setup a new shop in the Pear Tree car park and we are so happy to announce that you'll now able to find some of our creations there.
