This handcrafted hair fork is made from a pale subtle Holly wood. It has light greenish, grey and pink hues it is fine straight grain. It's is an exceptionally sturdy fork.

Holly is known to most of us as decoration around Christmas time. The Druids believed it to be a very powerful protective tree and encouraged people to take a piece of Holly into their homes in Winter, symbolising the Holly King ruling the winter half of the year. Romans exchanged gifts of Holly during their Winter Solstice celebrations.

The Holly I have in stock was salvaged from an old tree that stills stands tall in a quite valley near Bath.
